Upon Acceptance
As a writer’s network, we are in a unique position to pool together talented writers from around the world to collaborate with each other, share accomplishments and resources, and take advantage of the professional growth opportunities we have to offer. Once your manuscript is accepted for publication, there are a number of ways you can continue to stay involved with 10ktobi editors and the other writers we’ve published.
Here are the perks we offer writers who are published in 10ktobi:
1. Promotion of your literary accomplishments. Should you receive notice of an upcoming publication, book deal, or other promising news from an agent or publisher, we will promote your news on Facebook to 5,000 friends, more than 300 fans and our 3,500+ Twitter followers. You are, of course, welcome to post your news on these platforms, but as a writer published in our magazine, we are pleased to provide the extra support.
2. Receive a byline on our blog. Submit an unpublished article (350-750 words) about the craft of writing or a literary event that may be of interest to our readers. We are located in Chicago, but our readers are from around the world so events can be anywhere; they should be unique literary happenings and not just a regurgitation of event copy from another website.
3. Join the 10ktobi online writing group. We are offering writers who have been published in 10ktobi the opportunity to work together through a biweekly online critique group. There is a maximum number of participants.
4. Submission to 10ktobi. We will always welcome your work after you’ve been published in 10ktobi, and when you submit to us we will forward it to our reading panel immediately to expedite our decision instead of having your story or novel chapter read in the order received.
These perks are reserved only for writers who have been published in 10ktobi; unfortunately, we cannot offer them to everyone who submits to us.
We wish you all the best in your writing endeavors and look forward to reading your work!
